“LET’S GET STARTED!”
Miss Kishi’s shriek cut the air like a sharp pair of scissors. Esme jolted like she had been struck by lightning. Good. Now everyone could talk and they could go home. She had a lot to say to her mother, explaining why she was late coming home and about her misadventure with Amanda and Tara. Speaking of Amanda, Esme hoped the girl would be okay. A feeling of guilt spiked through her. What kind of white lie could she say to protect Amanda? That the board games were her idea? That Amanda and Tara played along? A bunch of other people were returning. That was the good news.
The bad news was the room was shaking. Literally.
Esme stumbled around, looking for someone to grab onto. Miss Kishi was calling for Nancy and Ellie. Mischa was shouting about the door. Esme was looking for any familiar faces, practically hurdling the auditorium chairs.
“Riley?! Becca?! Tara?! Chris?! Amanda?!”
She was calling out the names of anyone she didn’t see. But as she leapt, her foot got clipped by a chair. It sent her careening and her face met carpet. She gripped it tightly, her vision going in and out. Maybe it was her dizziness, but she swore the floor was swallowing everyone.

How long is Miss Kishi going to be? Naya wondered, only half listening to Misha and Nancy's conversation. She'd remembered she was meant to be picking up her brothers after their after-school club finished, but there was no way that was happening now. She grabbed her phone and sent a quick text to her mum, hoping she'd be able to make it. Her brothers were only 6, so there was no way they could walk home, after all.
"Let's get started!" Naya looked up and saw Miss Kishi enter the room. Finally! She put her phone in her blazer pocket, glad to finally be getting started (and to maybe suck up a little, just for the sake of the show casting!). Suddenly, she felt a tremor under her feet. Huh, that's weird. The shaking grew stronger.
"Wow, the special effects are killing it this year," Misha remarked. Naya looked at her.
"Somehow I don't think it's..." she tried to remain calm. She'd never been in an earthquake before, so she couldn't be sure that this was what it was, but she couldn't see how the effects team would be doing this, especially if they'd only just found out the next show was Heathers.
The shaking got worse, nearly knocking Naya off her feet. Okay, shit. Maybe she should go somewhere safe? What did you do in an earthquake? She racked her brain.
"Everybody stay calm!" Miss Kishi called, but as her teacher rushed to hug her niece Nancy, Naya couldn't help but feel anything but. Oh no, you're not crying again, she thought, but she couldn't help the tears from forming in her eyes. She didn't want to die!
Suddenly there was a loud scream, and Naya turned quickly, just in time to see a floodlight pierce the skull of one of her fellow drama members.
"Ellie!" she screamed, the tears freely flowing now. She hadn't known her that well, but... god, she was dead! Ellie's brains were covering the floor around her, her skull split in half, her body limp under the weight of the floodlight. Naya had never seen a person die before. She was frozen in place, all she could see was the dead girl. It was suddenly hard to breathe, her head grew light, her heart was beating out of her chest.
Misha grabbed her hand and began pulling her to the door, taking Naya by surprise. Her ears were ringing, was Misha trying to save her? She grabbed Misha's arm tighter, determined to not let go despite the chaos happening around her.
The floor collapsed. Naya screamed as suddenly she was falling, holding onto Misha as tight as she could. The dead girl was all she could see in her mind.
Black.

Jamie seemed to be just as surprised by Kairi's reaction as Al was as she continued to stare straight ahead towards the trio in front of them, his attempt at avoiding whatever just happened lost on her. "Hold on," she said, brushing aside his pineapple question. "Is... is Kairi... crying?"
Al immediately turned his focus back on the group. He hadn't seen the female fighter cry; she was too far away for him to tell, plus he didn't know her very well (of which he usually made a point of not trying to find out much for fear she'd pummel him if he did attempt to). But he knew Jamie hung out with her at least, and in that sense he trusted the brunette's judgement. But Kairi... crying!?!? The thought seemed even more absurd and weird than his previous thought about her seeing Peyton's boobs.
"Maybe she's just-"
"Yo Idiota."
"Uh oh."
Al looked up to meet fem-Al's gaze as she came up towards him and Jamie, her arms folded over her chest. "You forget how to text or did you feel like not letting anyone know you were on your way to get the dog?" she continued, causing the male to give her a confused look back.
"I did reply!" he protested as he reached inside his pocket to pull out his phone. "I-... Oh." He stopped mid-sentence as he looked down at the screen, recognizing the message he had typed out while heading towards the auditorium still waiting to be sent. He could practically feel the Latina's judgmental eyes on him as he realized his error, and as he glanced up towards her, then back down towards the device in turn, he couldn't help but let out a sheepish chuckle. "Guess I uh, missed the send button," he commented lightly with another laugh, a small smirk forming on his lips. "Oops."
Raising up his hands as if to defend himself a little from any lectures his name counterpart could possibly throw at him, Al leaned back in his chair, only to almost fall over as the loud sound of the auditorium doors slamming open rang throughout the auditorium. Instantly turning his head, he saw Miss Kishi walk inside and call everyone to attention, looking both pissed off and determined. "So the Witch has finally arrived, huh?" he said in a hushed whisper as an amused grin spread on his face. He nudged Jamie a little with his foot in a jest-like manner, though it seemed Jamie was still preoccupied with Kairi as she suddenly got up and started moving towards Em and her friends.
"Jamie, wai-" Al started to call out as he immediately stood up, reaching out to try and prevent her from running into the conversation. Though his voice was cut off as the floor beneath him started to tremble, getting more violent by the second as the sound of the ground shaking grew louder and louder... "Oh shit," he muttered under his breath as his eyes shot over to where fem-Al stood next to him, his brown eyes meeting hers in a look of fear as the panic of their situation hit him.
From her spot only a few feet away, Jamie was calling their name out for help, to which Al immediately moved forward and grabbed her arm. Though as soon as he had reached her, she had blacked out, her body going limp and throwing the two off balance. Shit, shit shit...! he muttered inwardly as his body neared the ground. Instinctively he held his hand out in front of him to break the impact, causing the two of them to land on the floor of the auditorium with a grunt. From somewhere in the room a loud crash could also be heard, as well as a thump of something hitting the ground. However the raven-haired was too focused on finding two specific faces in the crowd to notice, his eyes immediately scanning the room in a desperate search.
Still a good distance away in front of them was Em, Peyton, and Kairi, the sight of the three of them together a relief. But his mouth had instantly gone dry as his sister suddenly collapsed onto the others, similar to how Jamie had. It was sheer pandemonium. And due to the complete lack of equilibrium and her distance away from him, Al could only stare ahead and hope and pray his sister was okay... But where is...?!?
"ALEX!" he heard Misha call out from across the room. Al turned his head, a sense of relief washing over him at the sight of his best friend standing by the door with Naya, beckoning him over. Though that relief was short-lived as suddenly the floor beneath her feet gave away, causing the two to fall through in a split second.
"MISHA!" he screamed wide-eyed, his voice cracking in fear and complete shock. His irises stared straight ahead at the spot where he had watched her copper-red hair suddenly disappear into the darkness below, his body immediately taking a step forward as if he could reach her... as if he could possibly save her... or make sure she was alive...
Only to suddenly feel the ground beneath him give away as well. And before he could let out another breath, he felt the world sink beneath him, everything going black.

Let's raise hell

Post by Peyton Cross on Jul 10, 2018 19:52:49 GMT
In the midst of the heavy weight emotions, Peyton jumped at surprised sound of Miss Kishi bursting through the doors.
“Let’s get started!” she cried.
Peyton peered over to her and looked back at Kairi and Emery.
“Guess we should head ba-" Peyton’s words were cut off by sudden trembling throughout the room. What the hell???
“Everybody stay calm!” Miss Kishi shouted. Peyton’s leg shook as the ground moved more violently. She heard a huge crash, and looked over to see a student who’s head got crushed by a flood light. Before she could even process that, a small thud caught her attention, and she down to see Emery passed out on the floor.
“Em? Emery?! EMERY!” Peyton shouted shaking her awake. She held on to her friend’s shoulders but eventually lost her grip as the ground caved before them and she felt herself falling through the ground. Peyton had her arm stretched out, reaching for Emery. All sound had seemed to cut out, even though she was screaming her name. And then…nothing. Only a black, empty void.

Which Al?

Post by Alejandra Ramirez on Jul 10, 2018 20:06:16 GMT
The Latina teen rolled her eyes as her friend began to defend himself, even taking out his phone to prove he texted back when he had not actually. Watching as he realized that she was right on that little factoid, she rolled eyes and snorted. "Only you would forget to hit send." she stated dryly. Attention was soon taken elsewhere as Miss Kishi returned, her very presence turning up the tension.
"So the Witch has finally arrived, huh?"
Al glanced at her male counterpart, trying to keep her posture calm so as to not attract their teacher's attention. "Yep." she whispered back. "Wonder if she found Dorothy." Al kind of hoped she hadn't found poor Amanda, with how pissed off she was at the idea the girl wanted to start another club. It wasn't like it was going to be during drama club or anything, but Miss Kishi was taking it as a personal insult.
Suddenly the ground began to shake and Al shot her hands out to try and keep balance. What the hell? she thought, panic feeling up inside her as her eyes locked on with other Al's. An earthquake!? Chaos followed shortly after that realization, things falling over, people screaming. Al tried to figure out what was going on, her head turning around wildly as she watched everyone try to make sense.
A floodlight feel and landed on someone, but in the mass hysteria, Al couldn't see who it was or if they were somehow ok. Dios mio! she thought, feeling her heart lodge itself in her throat. They- they needed to find cover, get under a doorway or something hard and sturdy-
The ground gave out and a scream ripped itself from her throat as her body came tumbling down. Then everything went dark.

Hey look guys, I made it

Post by Catherine "Pidge" Santorini on Jul 10, 2018 20:19:28 GMT
"Let's get started!" Ms. Kishi's voice boomed through the auditorium, startling the techie out of her misery-filled haze. Coincidentally, she felt a small rumbling beneath her. An earthquake perhaps, almost as if Kishi's wrath had summoned it. Earthquake procedures, Pidge. What do you do? Hold on to something sturdy, I guess since there aren't any tables to hide under. Well it's not your fault we haven't had many of these! She stood up and ran towards the door as fast as she could. Pidge froze for a second. There were still people falling, and something within her told her to at least do something! They all were on different levels of respect, but they were still people she cared about and she didn't want to see any of them hurt from the tremors.
"Someone. Please... take my hand!" She shouted. Although her stature was small and her arms didn't have much range, the hero within her decided to emerge. She looked up as a floodlight fell and a large cracking noise that didn't sound like the floor under her. It had landed on top of a white-haired girl. Ellie, her name seemed to be. She gasped, shocked at the sight.
Think like your dad, Katie... she reassured herself as she tried to stand back up. What would he say? That he'd been through worse? Yes, he'd been a military man in his youth, but he must have felt something when he had seen the first person die on the field! All of her thoughts went towards her dad. He and the other teachers must have been outdoors safely. He wouldn't want you to die. You don't need to die. You don't want to die. You MUST NOT DIE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! Pidge looked down. All of her friends, enemies, and other were falling into the black abyss.
She called out for her father, but she knew it would be useless and he wouldn't hear her from here. The only brave thing she could do in this situation was to join them, fall, and black out.

If it hadn't been for Rebecca sitting right there, Zak would definitely have given Nerissa a piece of his mind. Something like "I'm capable of standing up for myself when I want to, you prissy, little bitch. It's a manner of speech, not like she was ever gonna do it, or could if she wanted to, and I don't need you to get offended on my behalf. What are you, my fucking mom? Not even my fucking mom is this dumb. Stay out of other people's shit."
Unfortunately, that wouldn't exactly make a great impression on the girl to his side, so he swallowed his annoyance and made a conscious effort not to turn in their direction and give them attention. His attention was on something much, much sweeter. At least for the next half a second before their overly dramatic mess of a teacher burst through the door. This time he couldn't hide his annoyance and let out a deep ugh, but turned to pay attention to her none-the-less. Whatever was about to happen had to be more entertaining that what already had. Someone was about to get skinned alive, if he were to judge by her last entrance.
He was wrong.
Before Rebecca could answer him, before Kishi managed to say much of anything, the whole floor started vibrating. It was so odd and hard to process that at first Zak thought it was Kishi's doing, upping the dramatic entrance once again. Maybe some kind of stage effect. He sat dumbstruck in his chair, not even reacting. Rebecca on the other hand was quicker in the uptake and quickly shoved him aside, but it was of little help.
People were falling. Seriously falling.
In a complete, disoriented daze Zak was pulled into the darkness.

Post by Emery Attiyah on Jul 12, 2018 18:55:08 GMT
Before the girls could finish their discussion on Peyton's mother, Veronica came in, getting all of their attention. Suggesting they all get started with the club. Her eyes went to the clock to see how much time they had left, not as much as she would like. But with all of their luck, and how upset Veronica was, she was probably going to hold them a bit longer than usual. Oh well, we're use to that by now.
"Guess we should head ba-"
Emery looked at Peyton when she didn't finish her sentence, her eyes narrowing in confusion before she felt the trembling herself. This time her eyes widened, she looked down at the floor, seeing it shake. "What the hell!?" She cried out, her heart starting to race as she started to feel flashbacks of the accident go through her head. The ground felt just like how her mother's car felt when it was hit and shook until it stopped, except this was ten times worse. Much worse. She could feel a panic attack start to happen when Veronica told everybody to stay calm. She looked up to find her teacher, to see where she needed to go, where they needed to go. But instead of seeing Veronica, she saw Ellie the moment the floodlight fell from the wall and crashed into her head.
Emery's eyes widened even more, her mouth opened for her to scream, but no sound came out. Scenes of her mother's head bleeding on the driver's seat went through her mind at that moment. And she swore she saw Ellie turn into her mother as she fell to the floor. Her vision went from clear to blurry to clear and back to blurry while she stared at the girl's body in horror. Frozen in fear, she felt numb at that moment. Not really feeling when she felt Kairi take her hand. All she could focus on was the blood.. Blood..
"Mom?" She whispered, seeing her mom's bloody forehead again in the flashback. "No.." She gasped, her eyes rolling to the back of her head, her vision going black as she fell back. Landing on the ground with the thud. Peyton tried to wake her up, but was not succesful. The floor underneath broke and Emery's right hand slipped through her best friend's hand as everything went black...
Black... and cold..
