"Yeah, well…" From those two words, Naya knew that pouring out her emotions had been a mistake. Not that she had been in any doubt about that, she'd regretted it as soon as the words left her mouth.
"… just don’t go around doing what random pervs tell you to do and we’ll be fine."
Naya groaned inwardly, but said nothing as Misha made her way to the plaza entrance. She didn't want to make this worse for either of them.
"I mean, if he’d asked you to hurt me or yourself, would you have done it?"
Did Misha really think that she was that sort of person? Someone who would hurt people deliberately? The thought almost angered Naya. No, she'd done this so they wouldn't get hurt! That was the whole point, she wasn't in this to cop a feel! God, way to make her feel like a monster, though she knew that was probably not Misha's plan. No, Naya had messed up, with good intentions, sure, but messed up nevertheless. Still, she wished she didn't feel like such a horrible person. She wished she could just rewind this day, this month in fact, and fix everything. Fix her crushed self esteem, fix her emotional outbursts, fix her stupid, naive actions that, for a moment, she believed would help. Just... fix it all. She missed being happy.
But she said nothing. Nothing could say would make any difference anyway.
"Well… I think we did say we’d explore the place, so… I’m going to go see what else this place has for us," Misha paused to look at Naya, "… you’re free to come if you want to."
And then she was gone. Naya looked down, thinking through her options. Go back into the entrance hall and be confronted by way too many people plus a dead body, or follow Misha and tiptoe around her, trying not to say or do any more stupid things. Neither seemed like a lot of fun, but she didn't want to be alone, and she didn't want Misha to be alone and possibly in harms way. God, she wished Emery was here, she always knew how to cheer Naya up.
But she's not, and you've got to put on your big girl panties and do this yourself, Naya.
That was her decision then. She took a deep breath and followed Misha to the classroom.
