One by one you wake up. Your stomach hurts like someone was poking you with a needle from the inside. Your head is pounding, you feel nauseated. When you open your eyes, you see that the school looks abandoned: the walls are covered in irradiated paint, most of the light bulbs are broken - so the lighting is dim - and there is no natural light from the windows. No matter how much time has passed the view outside the windows doesn't change - everything is pitch black and the only thing you can hear is heavy raindrops hammering against them. You won't be able to get out through the window or any of the exits. If you try to throw something at the window to break it, it won't shatter. Besides that, I would not recommend jumping into the bottomless holes in the floor (the main ginormous hole is located in the middle of the school in the plaza), that appeared after the "impact". Besides the holes the "black" part of the map represents collapsed walls and floor - mainly the masses of deteriorated concrete are located in the corridors, blocking the way from reaching each of the areas. TASK: Carefully explore your surroundings and stay close to your group; nobody knows what awaits you around the corner in the dark. The NPC of the group stays knocked out for this thread, but you will be able to communicate with them later. You are allowed to roam around the area (three rooms) and create as many threads as you want. Don't forget to tag people in the title and describe in your first post (or in "off-top" section below the post) when did this thread happen time-wise, so nobody will get confused! PARTICIPANTS IN THIS AREA [headmaster's office / class 2-3 / teachers launge]:
- Madonna (unconscious)
- Al - Esmeralda - Pidge - Naomi - Zak - Becca - Riley
WEATHER AND TIME IN THE GAME:The sky is pitch black and it's still raining buckets of rain. DATE IN THE GAME:Unknown. POST ORDER:There is none post order BUT wait for at least two new posts to appear, before posting again.

Post by Catherine "Pidge" Santorini on Jul 11, 2018 4:08:02 GMT
Pidge grunted as she slowly rose. She was alive! She didn't die! She felt like she had been impaled in the stomach, but she was still alive. Hopefully, Ms. Kishi, or whoever brought them into the room didn't inject her and the rest of her classmates with some sort of drug. Her breathing got faster and heavier as the seconds passed. She couldn't see much, even with her glasses on, which were surprisingly unharmed by the earthquake. She kinda regretted giving her phone to her dad before entering school that day.
"Dammit..." She muttered as she finally got enough strength to stand. The storm must've done some serious damage to the school. Pidge glanced around the room, her eyes adjusting slightly to the darkness. Outlines of other people were scattered around the edges of the room. She knelt down next to one of them and started nudging one of them awake. "Come on... come on... at least some of you be alive.."

Rebecca laid on the ground, breathing, softly, slowly. her hand was cut, due to grabbing the pipe. ..her long black hair sprawled among her body.her frame shockingly, sat up awake, and sucker punched the person shaking her awake."OH! OH PIDGE! I am so sorry!" she'd wince, holding her hand."You..have a really strong face." She'd look around."Where are we?"

The bells in Esmeralda's head stopped blarring in her ears and her vision was starting to return to normal. She remembered very vague pieces of what happened before. It was like something out of one of those cheesy disaster movies, with the floor caving and people falling. The only difference was there wasn't an action hero saving the day. She sat up and felt something metallic in her mouth, complete with a stabbing sensation in the stomach. Esmeralda doubled over, realizing she sat up too fast. After a breath, smelling the must, she sat back up. She heard voices, and her heart relaxed.
"Beck?" she approached the stirring figure next to a girl with glasses. "Oh, thank God."

Which Al?
|
Post by Alejandra Ramirez on Jul 11, 2018 17:35:29 GMT
Grogginess filled her brain as Al slowly came too, her mind slowly returning to consciousness while her eyes fluttered. Darkness filled her vision, making her wonder if she was even awake before they began to adjust in what little light existed. Did she wake up in the middle of the night? Wanna go back to sleep. she thought, moving to roll onto her side. Only for pain to shoot up her body at the movement of her abdomen. A hiss left her lips as she curled in on herself, arms wrapping around her stomach. What the hell? It ached like like she had a ton of booster shots in one area, or what her menstrual cycles used to feel like before she got on birth control. I had mine two weeks ago, so it can't be that. she thought, feeling nausea roll in time with the pain. Her head was hurting too, like it got knocked around-
The earthquake.
Shooting up, Al hissed again before blinking through the darkness. She remembered everything shaking and then falling. Did they land in the school cellar or something? Did the school have a cellar? She saw shadowy figures of bodies, two of which were moving, and the Latina girl fiddled around her person to look for her phone. She she found it, in her skirt pocket (thank got for those), she opened it up and turned on the flashlight setting. Her eyes squinted a bit at the added light as she shined it towards the figures.
Relief filled her as she spotted Pidge and Becca, only to flinch as Becca punched Pidge mere moments after the light hit them. "What the fuck?" she asked, only to shake her head as Becca apologized to the other girl. "Talk about your fight or flight reflexes." she muttered, shining her phone around the room and onto the other bodies. It looked like a few others from Drama club, Esme was up and moving around now, were with them and-
"Mierda!" she cursed, "Is that the principal!?" Sure enough, her phone's light shown upon the unconscious body of Ms. Truman. She looks like she's knocked out cold. Gotta call for help. Looking down at her screen, she noticed that there was no service. "Hijo de puta! No service!" she growled out, running a hand through her hair. Which was when she realized she didn't have her headphones with her. It just keeps getting better and better. she thought, groaning out. Looking at her screen some more, she also noted that the clock was resetted, meaning she had no idea how long they had been unconscious. Just great.

Post by Zak Gully on Jul 11, 2018 21:27:30 GMT
Zak woke by a bright flash on light hitting his face. At first he thought it was annoying and scrunched his face, but it only lasted a brief moment and was nothing compared to the pain that hit him next. Oh God, I'm sick, I'm so sick, I'm gonna die. Grunting heavily he turned on to his side, which only caused more pain and louder moans. Eventually he was forced to open his eyes, not that that let him see much more.
"What the hell..." he moaned and reached for his phone. He was still overly dazed and didn't know what was going on. He hadn't even taken a real look around, but he knew he was hurting and needed to go to the hospital. He needed to call his mom to have her pick him up.
While fishing for his phone Zak looked around, trying to remember what had happened, trying to understand what was going on, but it was so surreal. He had to be dreaming, this didn't even look like real life. Nothing about this room, this paint, this darkness, resembled anything real life-ish. He tried to sit up, but realized it would hurt, so he laid back down, choosing instead to lay on his back and looking up at his cellphone.
Quickly he found his mom's contact and pressed call, pressing the phone to his ear and closing his eyes. This would all be over soon. Except the phone never rang. "What the hell..." he repeated, a little more alert this time, and tried again. Still nothing. He put his phone up and stared at the no signal error message. "Fuck," he muttered and looked around the room. Where could he go to get better service? It wasn't a huge room, but surely it had to have service somewhere.
"Who's got a signal?" he asked, noticing more people were awake. If the ambulance doesn't pick me up first, I am going to be pissed.

Rebecca's body was sore. broken it felt, but not really; her eyes bloodshot from the stuff she got hit with."Mierda!" "Calm down, " said Rebecca, rubbing her eyes gently, feeling sick, as she stood slowly, using the wall for help."We don't know where we are, what time it is or how long we've been here if we overreact at anything it could be dire for one of us or all of us.''Gee, What made Rebecca gain more confidence? She noticed Esme"Are you ok Esme?" Rebecca was scared- but she knew never to show it.Her maternal instincts kicked in...despite being in severe pain, she stood, half hunched over. Her survival instincts, had also kicked in. Becca chuckled at Alex's response to her punch."No-one tends to wake me up like that at home for a reason, I have nightmares and I tend to hit.''she'd admit."it is a uncontrollable response and defense.'' Becca heard a raring siren in her head, and tried to not smash it againt's the wall to get rid of it.She heard Zak, lightly and knelt down next to him"Are you all right? that roof piece near crushed you.''

Post by Catherine "Pidge" Santorini on Jul 12, 2018 5:56:19 GMT
Jesus fucking Christ! What the fuck was that for, Becca? Pidge flinched as she felt the black hand girl's upper cut strike her cheek. The bridge of her nose stung from the blow, but she didn't mind. Nothing was broken, and she had dealt with far worse injuries in the past. Thank goodness she apologized or else she'd provoke a cussing-out session. "You..have a really strong face."
Catherine chuckled and complimented her back, "And you've got yourself a killer hook."
She gasped as she gazed upon the body of the headmistress of the school splayed out on the floor. "Okay, everyone... or at least everyone who's awake right now," Pidge made herself the temporary leader and circled the area until she reached Ms. Truman's head, "calm down. Can anyone please check her pulse?"

Esme glared at her phone. Much like Zak, she had no service. She even held up her phone ala Lion King to try and get higher altitude and a stronger signal. No luck.
“Nada,” she answered. “No service. Especially not with...however deep in the ground we are. Looks like calling for help is out.”
Pidge has moved to check in on someone slouched over. Esme quickly turned on her flashlight app, careful not to blind anyone who was coming to. The inkiness of the room was slowly cutting, but it still wasn’t enough light. She joined Pidge by the older woman, looking for any signs of life.
“Mira! Look!” she said, “Her body’s moving. She will be all right.” Esme swung the flashlight beam around, trying to pinpoint any other recognizable things. There were huge craters and the less she thought of those the better. She stepped around rocks and rubble, kneeling to shake someone else awake.
“Are you okay?”

Post by Zak Gully on Jul 12, 2018 16:25:32 GMT
Zak sat up straighter, releasing a complaining grunt at the pain as he did, and clutched his stomach and side as Rebecca came closer. He sent her a lazy smile, but was too out of it, too disorientated and too - pardon the pun - in the dark to bring an honest effort to the flirting table. Something she said did suddenly connect with him, though.
"Are you all right? That roof piece near crushed you.''
That roof... Zak looked around as if he was first now seeing it. "What the..." It was coming back to him. The shaking, the big hole, the... this wasn't even the room they were in. They were in the auditorium, he remembered now. This was... honestly hard to tell right now, but it definitely wasn't the auditorium. What the hell happened? None of this made any sense. All it did was reaffirm his belief that this was indeed a dream. No other explanation for it.
He could still hear the rain pouring down, but the steady beat against the window was so constant he couldn't even hear it anymore. Just like a refrigerator. What worried him more was the darkness. It hadn't been late, had it? And even if they had been unconscious for a significant amount of time, it couldn't be this dark. Something was off.
"I'm okay," he answered Rebecca absentmindedly and stood slowly. "This is a dream, so of course I'm alright." Moving slowly to the window, every step made the sinking feeling in his stomach worse, until he was right by the window, pressing his face up against the glass. It wasn't an 'it's-really-late' kind of dark. It was more like... the outside world had stopped existing. Like they were floating in a vacuum. "Yup, totally a dream."

Which Al?

Post by Alejandra Ramirez on Jul 12, 2018 16:29:05 GMT
At least it was a relief that Pidge took a punch to the face well. But man did that look like it hurt. Hearing Becca talk about having nightmares that make her react violently to waking, the Latina girl gave a quick nod. "Ok so never wake you. Good to know." At least not from within punching distance. The sight of Ms. Truman unconscious was very unsettling, but as both she and Esme checked her out, Al moving in a bit closer, they both realized she was very much alive. "Yeah her chest is moving, she's still breathing. And from what I can tell so far she isn't bleeding." she stated, slowly standing up.
She heard the groans of someone else waking up, from the sounds of it either not good at handling pain or somehow hurting worse than the awake girls were. Shining the light towards the sound, she spotted Zak. "You ok?"she asked, watching as he looked at his phone. It seemed he didn't have a signal either. "Nah, we're in some kind of dead zone I think." she stated, moving the light away to look around the room. Zak didn't seem to be taking the news of nearly getting crushed well, then again who would? But he was pretty much denying the earthquake happened at all. "You're not dreaming dude. Just really really lucky."
It was really familiar looking and confusion started to fill her up as she took in the sight of a fancy desk and chair, the windows that showed darkness, the familiar light fixtures that now had broken bulbs. "Guys..." she stated, the confusion clear in her voice. "We aren't underground." Al moved towards the desk, the light from her phone hitting a nameplate that shined against it. Headmaster Truman. "We're in Ms. Truman's office."
How the hell did the end up in there? Last Al could remember was falling into a hole in the ground, before everything turned black. Did someone find them? Drag them out perhaps while they got help? but then, why leave them in the school? That seemed dangerous given the earthquake clearly damaged the foundation. The room seemed off too. The paint on the walls looked like it was kind of glowing, as if someone put a faded glow-in-the-dark pain on the walls. Or it was exposed to radiation. Please be glow-in-the-dark paint. she thought, carefully moving to a window. She couldn't really see outside which was.... weird. Just how late at night was it? Was it the storm? Al could kind of hear rain falling outside.
With a frown, Al went to open one of the windows. Setting her phone on the desk, the light hitting the ceiling, she placed her hands on the frame and tried to push it open. Only... it didn't budge. "What the hell?" she exclaimed, grunting a little as she tried harder. "The window won't budge!" With a frustrated huff, she backed away and grabbed her phone back. She shined her light around the room, hoping to find something useful.
[Off-Top: Al made a perception check.]

Dice result: 1D10 => 7 Success; you found an item!
Something glinted in the dark. On closer inspection, it appeared to be a glass showcase. Inside you can find a wooden baseball bat with the initials R.H. engraved on it. It was her son's first baseball bat. You will have to break the glass to get it, but maybe it will be worth it?
Item: a baseball bat
When used gives -1 health for anybody who is getting hit BUT it will give the owner -1 sanity if he/she attacks another player with it. To get the item you will have to break the glass. Whoever does that will get -1 health point.

Zak was still staring out the window into the nothingness that laid beyond it. No way was anyone telling him this wasn't a dream. And he couldn't remember having gone to bed, that was a sign of being asleep, right? The more he thought about it, the weird earthquake thing was probably part of the dream too. There were never any earthquakes around here, and the floor just opening up like that? With them all still being perfectly fine afterwards? Bull. Shit.
He turned around and opened his mouth, just about to tell Al she was wrong, it definitely was a dream, when he felt his phone vibrating in his hand. We have a signal! he thought enthusiastically and lifted his phone. Nothing. Apparently they had had a signal for a second and lost it again just as quick. What was this, the friggin 90's? A stable connection should be a human fucking right by now.
He ignored the message and decided instead to text his mom. If the signal came back on, he could hope it would send and she would send for help.
"Mom, Trapped inside the school. Earthquake or bomb or something, I don't know. We can't get out. Need an ambulance."
Sent.
Okay, now he could pay attention to the other text. Quickly he let his eyes run along the single line before exclaiming a loud "WHAT THE FUCK?!" He'd been saying it a lot in the last minute, but this time he really meant it. This was some sick fucking shit. And he couldn't even see who it was from. "What kind of sick fucking joke is this? Who sent this?!" he shouted into the room, demanding an answer. He still believed this to be a dream, but how fucked up was his head to dream this? ... Well, he had never liked the lady. Never-the-less.
"Al?" he asked. Out of the people awake she seemed the most likely culprit, and he'd had his back to her.

Zak felt a wave of static noise rang out within his mind, making him bend and fall to the floor in pain. No matter what he did, the sound didn't stop. It grew louder with every second and rose to an inhuman screech. Nobody but Zac could hear or feel the sounds. It was all inside his head.
A minute later, the long-awaited silence has come. Zac lost 1 sanity point.
